Keel ram problem for Denis adds to his troubles
Damage to the keel cylinder for Denis Van Weynbergh. The Belgian skipper of D'Ieteren Group Denis Van Weynbergh has a further problem to add to his mainsail halyard trouble. While he had to try and deal with problems with his mainsail halyard at the beginning of the week, he had a problem with his keel ram last night. He explains in a short video, that he has been forced to block it in the centered position, so it can no longer cant to an angle which provides righting moment.
Last night, I realized that my keel was moving on its own, which is not great. Now it won't move: for more safety, I fixed the keel in a centered position. The problem is that I can't use the keel on one side or the other. Now it's centered, it doesn't move anymore, but it’s better in terms of safety!
