We are firmly committed to a Web for all. With a long-term, responsible vision, we aim to fully comply with regulatory requirements, in particular RGAA 4.1.
To this end, Vendée Globe is implementing the following strategy and actions:
What is digital accessibility?
Digital accessibility means that people with disabilities can use the Internet. More precisely, it means being able to perceive, understand, navigate, interact with and contribute to the Web. Digital accessibility also benefits others, such as the elderly, whose abilities change with age.
Digital accessibility encompasses all disabilities that affect access to the Web, including visual, hearing, physical, speech, cognitive and neurological disabilities.
Digital accessibility involves making online public communication services accessible to people with disabilities, i.e. making them :
- Perceptibility: adapting content so that it can be accessed via various senses.
- Usability: making functionalities navigable and usable for all.
- Comprehensibility: ensuring a clear and predictable presentation of information.
- Robustness: ensuring compatibility with current and future technologies.
