Since 0100hrs UTC last night, Sébastien Marsset has been facing a major breakdown in energy production. A power cable broke in his engine compartment, depriving the boat of its second source of electricity.
The hydro-generators, already weakened, are almost inoperable by the presence of sargassum, making energy management particularly worrying with more than 2,000 miles left to sail. Marsset is working with his technical team to identify and implement a viable repair solution. Each solution is being evaluated to secure the rest of the navigation.
For the time being, it is a restriction of communication with land in order to preserve the little battery stored.
